Google Maps and Mapquest are two separate, totally different sites, they look different, they work differently, they have different tools, different features, different strengths and different weaknesses. To get driving directions simply visit mapquest.com/directions, type in your locations in the blank fields, enter your starting address in A, enter your ending address in B, click on get directions, and that's it. If you want to add more stops to your route just click on "add another stop", map quest allows you to add up to 26 stops on every route, that way you won't have to create a bunch of different routes for your days journey, you simply have to build one single route with all your stops on it, this feature is great for road trips.

Mapquest is one of the most popular online mapping services in North America, Mapquest driving directions are extremely popular in the USA and Canada, it is also one of the web's leading providers of digital maps, this service has been online for more than a decade, the only mapping site that's probably older is Rand McNally and I'm not even sure about that, and I'm not going to check either.
